pranayama can be translated as the control of life force or the extension of breath. but to me, the best description is the flow of vital energy. it is the formal practice of controlling the breath, which is the source of our prana, our vital force.
we breathe automatically, it is what keeps us alive. but what if i told you that it has healing powers and helps to decrease effects of stress and increases overall physical and mental health?

chakras are energetic centers in our body through which the prana flows. the energy whirls around the body through those centers thanks to our breath. they are located alongside our spine, from the base to the crown of the head.
when a chakra gets stuck, energy flows less easily which creates blockages. an unbalanced chakra can either be over or under active. they both create imbalances, tentions, diseases in our body and in our life. but they can be unblocked in different kind of ways.
